The city of Tianjin

Tianjin is located on the northern coast of China and it is one of the four municipalities of China.Where 10,240,000 people live along the Hai He River urban area and it has the third largest city in China.
Tianjin's climate is a monsoon-influenced humid continental climate.Which that it is very hot, humild in summers, very cold dry in winters and windy but dry in spring.
Tianjin has many universities and it has the most famous Ancient Culture Street, The Antique Market, The Fine Art Museum, The Memorial hall and also has famous snacks such as Goubuli baozi, Guifaxing mahus and Erduoyan fried rice cakes.
Tianjin is an important industrial city in China. Its main industries include petrochemical industries,textiles, car manufacturing, mechanical industries and metalworking,the Salt production is also important too.
People from urban Tianjin speak Tianjin dialect, which comes under the Mandarin subdivision of spoken Chinese,the people of Tianjin are friendly.Tianjin has 26 sister cities world wide.Now Tianjin is a more modern coastal city and important economic industry city in northern China.

Zongzi

Zongzi is food for eating on special occasion. The most famous food for the Dragonboat Festival is Zongzi, you can call it sticky rice dumplings.


There are Zongzi made from sticky rice and bamboo, inside which there is any kind of fillings. It depends on what people like. Zongzi are wraped tightly with cotton thread.


This dish has a very special history. It is the story of Quyuan, who killed himself because he gave good advice to the king but the king was very stubborn and didn't listen to him, QoYuan was so angry and sad that he dived into a river. People threw Zongzi into the water to try to save his body for being eaten by the fish.


Today we eat these Zongzi at the Dragonboat festival to the memory of Quyuan.
